Manufactured by William Seefeldt, c. 1865, in
Philadelphia. Brass,
with three top-action string-actuated, internally corked, rotary valves.
Sometimes referred to as a "pocket" cormet. Seefeldt (1829-1909) made very
fine high quality brasswinds and first appeared in the Philadelphia business
directory in 1858. The cornet is 11 3/4" long and has
a bell diameter of 4 1/2". "W Seefeldt Maker Philade" is on the Bell Garland. |
