Lyon & Healy
The firm of Lyon and Healey was established in Chicago, IL in December 1864 by George W. Lyon and Patrick J. Healy originally as a mid-western outlet for Oliver Ditson & Co., Boston. While the company did manufacture brass instruments early in its existence and were awarded some late civil war Army contracts for bugles, these were not delivered on until after the war. Most of their brass instruments were either imported or assembled from parts imported from Europe into the United States. The firm was in business as late as 1940. |
